This one-day interactive course explains how to bring the best out of the people working for you to achieve company goals and individual targets. It shows the benefit of coaching over the more traditional forms of people development, and how coaching can be used to improve the benefit gained from other forms of people development.
The benefits of coaching have been known since the days of ancient Greece; however, it is only in the last decade that the potential to use coaching to improve individual and organisational development has been recognised.
- How to identify when to use coaching – This module provides an introduction to coaching and the purpose it plays in people development. It highlights the important differences between coaching & mentoring, as well as the core skills required by an effective coach.
- Why coaching is so important – This explores the benefits of the different approaches required to develop different types of people in the workplace; and why coaching is a critical element to this approach.
- The role of motivation in coaching – Helps participants identify what motivates people and how this has led to an increase in coaching in the workplace. Also why a coaching approach to people development can be used as a key motivational tool.
- How to coach using the GROW model – This provides a recognised process that course attendees can us in all coaching situations, whether formal or informal.
